How Do I Watch Viki on Samsung TV?

The Viki app is now available on Samsung TV (models from 2018 and newer, webOS 5 and above). Learn about our supported devices and minimum OS requirements here.

  The Viki app on Samsung TV is only available for Viki Pass subscribers. You can subscribe to a Viki Pass here.
  How Do I Install the Viki App on Samsung TV? 

Follow the steps below to install the Viki app on your Samsung TV:

  1. Press the Home button on your remote control.
  2. Select Apps and then select the Search icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Type in Viki in the search box.
  4. Select the Install tab to start downloading the Viki app. 
   How do I create a Viki account on Samsung TV?
At the moment, you won’t be able to create a Viki account on the Viki app directly. Scan the QR code or go to viki.com to create a Viki account using your email address, Google, Rakuten, Facebook or Apple account. Learn how to do this here.

How Do I Log In to My Account on the Viki App on Samsung TV?
  A subscription is needed in order to log in to the Viki app on your Samsung TV. Select a subscription plan or sign up for the 7-day free trial. Learn how to do this here. After subscribing, re-open the Viki app on your Samsung TV and log in.  

There are 2 ways to log in to the Viki app on your Samsung TV:

Log In Using the QR Code

  1. From the launch page of the Viki app, select Log in
  2. Scan the QR code using your phone camera or a QR reader app.

  3. Scanning the QR code will launch the Viki app on your phone or lead you to viki.com/samsungtv on your mobile web browser. You will be prompted to log in if you haven’t already done so.
  4. If you are already logged in, scanning the QR code will complete the linking of your account to the Samsung TV after a few seconds.

Log In Using the Alphanumeric Code

  1. From the launch page of the Viki app, select Log in.
  2. From any computer or mobile device web browser, visit viki.com/samsungtv. Make sure you’re logged in to the correct account and enter the code you see on your Samsung TV.

  3. Once you submit the code, the app will start and you will log in.
   How Do I Set PIN?

PIN access for restricted shows is now optional. Follow the steps below if you’d like to enable it to limit access to certain shows.

How to Set Your 4-digit PIN

  1. From a web browser or mobile browser, go to Viki.com and log in to your Viki account.
  2. Go to Account Settings. Under Settings, next to No content restrictions set, click on Change.
  3. Before you enable Content Restrictions, you will be prompted to enter an OTP Code. Enter the OTP Code that is sent to the email address linked to your Viki account.
  4. Toggle the button from left to right to set Content Restrictions.
  5. Under Restricted content ratings, select the content rating you wish to restrict.
    The selected restriction will apply across devices.
  6. Create a 4-digit PIN and click Save settings to save your settings. Once saved, all content with the selected rating and above will require the user to enter their PIN before it can be played.

  7. Under Account Settings > Settings > Content Restrictions, you will also be able to check what Content Restrictions you have set your account to.
  Once enabled, the 4-digit PIN will be the same across all supported devices. Learn more about Content Restrictions, how to reset PIN, change or disable PIN here.
   How Do I Change My Subtitle Settings?
How Do I Turn Subtitles On/Off?

Follow the steps below to turn on/off the subtitles and to set the subtitle language:

  1. On the video player page, select the subtitle icon.
  2. Select Language and choose your preferred subtitle language from the list of available subtitles to turn the subtitles on.
  3. Select OFF to turn off subtitles.

How Do I Change the Appearance of the Subtitles?

  1. On the video player page, select the subtitle icon.
  2. Slide right to Text Size to change the font size of your subtitles.
  3. Slide further right to Style to change the subtitle font to your preference.

  When subtitles for a video don’t appear or are incomplete, the community has not finished with the subtitling yet. You can check if a video has been completely subtitled by referring to the subtitle completion percentage at the bottom of the video thumbnail.
   Basic Troubleshooting
Follow the troubleshooting steps below when you encounter issues with the Viki app on your Samsung TV.
  1. Log out from your Viki account.
      • You can do this by going to Settings from the side menu bar on the main home page. Scroll down and select Logout.
  2. Uninstall the Viki app.

  3. Re-install the Viki app from the Samsung app store.

  4. Turn your Samsung TV off and on.
  5. For video playback issues, please reboot your internet connection.
  6. Open the Viki app and log back into your account by following the steps here.
