Why is inserting code to my browser is a security risk?

Encouraging users to insert malicious code directly into their browser is one of the ways social engineers around the world operate to steal users' information.

This may come in the form of social engineers encouraging you to insert code and be rewarded with a free Viki Pass subscription. This malicious activity is called the Self XSS scam, where social engineers can steal your account credentials from our services via scripts injected into your browser.

Another potential danger of injecting unknown scripts is drive-by download. The malicious script may trigger unauthorized downloads - viruses, spyware, and malware - compromising the activities and information on your system.
