[Solved] Video Playback Error
Hi! Just for the show “Happiness” I keep getting the Video Playback Error 1 (Http response) and sometimes I get Error 5(Bitrate). Not sure why I keep getting these errors with just this show. I’ve made it to episode 9 with no issues until now. It happens on both my app and on my Roku TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have had the same issue on several shows I’ve tried to watch today. I’m sitting here looking at the error message yet again. I also use a ROKU. I’ve never had this problem until today.

I am also having the same issue for the first time today on my Roku. I get the same two errors (video playback error 1 and error 5 bitrate) no matter what show I try to watch. I have already tried logging out, removing and reinstalling the Vicki app, but I keep getting the same error messages. I also checked that Viki is updated (currently version 3.6 build 0). Please help so I can get back to watching. 😊 Thank you!

Was middle of binge watching "Shining for One Thing" then it gave me a same info. Hope it's fixed soon so I can go back at it. 💔
Same issue here on all my devices. Worked fine all day until now. Video playback error: error in HTTP response. Logged out a twice and signed back in with same errors.
I am getting the oh no! Something went wrong. We’re looking into it as you read this. Please try again in a few minutes. Doesn’t matter what I try to watch. Been this way for over an hour now.
Earlier I was just getting the error messages now and then but now I can’t watch anything “Oops” due to “video playback error-1 There was an error in the HTTP response. This could mean that malformed HTTP headers or an HTTP error code was returned.” I hope by putting one of the actual error messages, maybe if someone reads these messages will have a better idea of what is going on.
I’ve done all the troubleshooting. I have cleaned out my cache, logged out, removed Viki from my Roku, then added it back on and logged back in twice now this evening and still cannot watch anything.
I haven’t had any luck either, and did the same as lorihampton. I even went on twitter lol… I haven’t got a reply nor has my “fix it” ticket been addressed yet. But I hope it’s resolved or we hear something soon! 🙏
We're aware of the current playback issues on Roku and the iOS app.
In the meantime, we suggest watching on Viki.com or on other supported devices.
