[On Hold] Google Chromecast won't load

First it was not being able to turn OFF subtitles when casting to the Google Chromecast.... Now it's that when I try casting to the Chromecast at all, all I get is a loading screen. I've tried the steps of logging out and back in, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I also tried restarting my phone and restarting the Chromecast. Every other app service I use doesn't have any of these issues. Please fix this. Both the not being able to turn OFF subtitles and not being able to cast to the Chromecast. This wasn't an issue until a week ago. What happened?

    Let me tell you that since yesterday I've been experiencing same situation as christinepokesu_44. I really thought that I had a problem on my phone or my Chromecast. I even bought another Chromecast to try to fix the problem. 

    Please help me here. Weekend is almost on the corner and have no acess to Viki's doramas and movies on a big screan (50"TV) is worst than a terror movie to me.

  • Any update on when this will be fixed? Looking on the recent reviews of the Viki app, it is clear I'm not the only one having issues since this last recent update.

    Problem was fixed for 24h but now Chromecast is not working again. It's so annoying to have this kind of problem on the weekend. Please push your technical staff to fix this bug ASAP. I still have faith that my cold, rainy, under blankets and enjoying Asian Dramas can be saved.

  • Dear Kristoffer, weekend has gone and I still have problems to stream Viki app on TV through Chromecast. As I told you, first time I complaint about it, the problem were solved quickly but it last for 24h. After this time, Chromecast was not working again for viki app. For your information, it works for everything else, except for Viki.

    Please ask your technical staff to fix it once more. And make it last forever (problem fixed... of course).

  • I've tried to attach a picture on this message but it doesn't allowed me to. Anyway, when I try to use Chromecast it appears on TV the RAKUTEN logo but video keeps loading forever (it never ends nor turn it off). I guess that's it.

  • Same with ihebkammoun. It will either just have a loading screen the whole time, have the viki logo or the RAKUTEN logo and nothing will load after loading forever. Will this problem be fixed soon? I pay for the most expensive pass (and a yearly subscription at that). If this continues, I will have to demand a refund for the remaining months in the year. Especially since I can't even turn off subtitles anymore (my mom speaks fluent korean and doesn't need the subtitles. When I started paying for Viki, there were no issues with casting and turning off subtitles WHILE CASTING. I bought the viki subscription for her and now she can't cast and can't turn of subtitles, so why even bother paying for viki now since it no longer does the two features she needs?). Please fix this soon. It's ridiculous to expect people to uninstall and reinstall the app every single time to cast. Especially since casting and subtitle toggling is such a basic feature that literally all streaming services provide.

  • Update today has fixed the casting. Now please fix both the subtitles not being in sync and provide the option to turn the subtitles off when casting as how it was before the update.
