[Solved] Continue watching not updating

I noticed about 2 days ago that my continue watching was not updating and it’s doing this on all of my devices. I have logged out and back in and I’ve even deleted the apps and redownloaded them. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

    Hi everyone,

    Our engineers have gotten back to us and the issue with Continue Watching/Watch Markers should have improvements made for most users.

    If you are still facing the same issues, please try these first:

    • Log out, reinstall the Viki app, and log back into your account.
    • Check that your profile/settings page indicates the same account username across all your devices.

    Do kindly note that Continue Watching/Watch Markers usually take within 15-30 mins before it is updated. Dramas/movies must have also been played for at least one minute.  

    Otherwise, if the issue persists, please write back in the below format so our team can identify the issue for you:

    1. Your Viki username
    2. The show+episode that you have last watched and is not updating on your Continue Watching
    3. The date & time of that last watched activity
    4. If you have other devices, do you see the same watched activity missing?

  • Hi John,
    My list hasn’t updated in 3 days now and I have tried all of those things. Would you happen to have any other solution I could try?

  • Having the same issue. It has been like this for at least three weeks. This needs to be fix ASAP. It's frustrating knowing that a lot of users are going through the same thing and this problem haven't been fixed. Please Viki do something about it.

  • Viki, what are MILLIONS of people paying for premium subscriptions for? This would be completely unacceptable with any other streaming service BECAUSE IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. It’s also infuriating. FIX IT.

  • Update: Personally on my end the continue watching hasn't gotten fixed it still not updating the fact that I watched a show. However, if I click on the show I'm watching the episode did save the viewing history which was also messed up previously along side the whole continue watching not updating. At least there is one good news if anyone else is struggling with that issue as well.

    Thanks for writing to us! I'm sorry you're experiencing these problems with the Continue Watching feature/Watch Markers on the Viki app.

    Please note that Continue Watching/Watch Markers usually take within 15-30 mins before it is updated. Also, dramas/movies must have been played for at least one minute.  

    Do also ensure that you're logged in to your Viki account.

    If you still do not see your Continue Watching list/Watch Marker updated after 30 mins, to make sure this is not an app issue can you please try the following?

    1. Log out from the Viki app

    2. Delete and Reinstall the Viki app

    3. Log back into Viki

  • J'ai le même problème que vous. J'ai récemment  (il y a plus de 5 jours ) supprimer les émissions que j'avais terminé de regarder dans mon Continue Watching/Watch et depuis rien ne se met à jour. Je dois toujours aller rechercher les émissions que j'écoute et en plus, les émissions ne recommence pas au moment que je les est laisser, mais au début des épisodes. Je dois donc me noter je suis rendu ou lorsque je ne termine pas un épisode. J'espère que ce problème sera résolu au plus vite parce que ceci est vraiment dérangeant.

  • same problem here for weeks...is there an estimated time it´ll be fixed? its peculiar as the continue watching works with some shows but not others.

  • Same issue for me as well. Continue Watching stopped updating when i was in the middle of bingeing a show. Now I've finished that show and started its sequel but Continue Watching says I'm still half-way through the first show and it doesn't even recognise I've started the second show.

    I tested it a bit and it doesn't recognise ANY show I start.

    This issue has been going on for about a week now. Unless i pull out a piece of paper, I can't keep track of what episode I'm on. This is pretty frustrating. I hope there's a solution soon.

  • Been having the same issue... not saving my viewing history. I watch a few shows at once so this is getting confusing and I have to make notes for myself so I know where I left off. Pleaseeeee fix this!

  • Update. This is a major issue bc VIKI is not tracking the episodes AT ALL.  It’s basically useless now. You need to call people in to fix this, and you need to credit our accounts for the system crash. 

    By the way, John Rey, support specialist, your note above was posted almost three weeks ago.  And none of those suggestions had any effect bc VIKI has a major problem. We’ve been reporting it, and finally the system posts a blue note acknowledging what we told you for three weeks.  Please call in help bc we’re tired of keeping a note pad for our episodes. Thanks!

  • I am having the same issue as well. I have gone through and deleted my watch history and everything else that I could think of and unfortunately, nothing worked. This issue was reported 3 weeks ago and it seems that the problem is growing.

  • Remembering where a customer left off watching is about as basic and fundamental as it gets for a streaming service. It’s insane this has gone on this long. “Continue watching” is literally the bread & butter of streaming. Get it together.

  • Is VIKI going out of business? 
    Over a month and your service is basically worthless. 
    Won't be renewing.  There are other services that actually work.

  • It's now going on a month that "continue watching" has not updated for me - both devices. If this problem was acknowledged 30 days ago, exactly WHEN is it getting fixed? This should have been resolved within the first week. It feels like nothing is being done and all these complaints are being ignored. I hope that's not the case or I'll rethink my next renewal.

  • It happened again today I watched Be My Dream Family using firefox (not Chrome) and it does not update.   I even had to pause it and when I came back to the pc it did show where I left off.



    Otherwise, if the issue persists, please write back in the below format so our team can identify the issue for you:

    1. Your Viki username - Joni Buckwalter
    2. The show+episode that you have last watched and is not updating on your Continue Watching - Be My Dream Family Episode 90
    3. The date & time of that last watched activity- 08/19/2021 around 7:30 to 8:00
    4. If you have other devices, do you see the same watched activity missing? checked Chrome and it did not show that the job was watched
