    Hello,

We’ll be ending support for Viki app versions 2.6.0 and older on Roku.

You can learn more about this here: Ceased Support for Viki app versions 2.6.0 on Roku TV / 2.5.0 on Apple TV and older.

To use the Viki app, please update your Viki app manually on your Roku TV by following the steps below:

    1. Make sure your Operating System (OS) is updated to the latest version. You can learn how to update your OS on your Roku TV by following the steps here: How do I update the software on my Roku® streaming device?

    2. Go to the Roku Channel Store

    3. Search for the Viki channel

    4. Select 'Update'

    5. If the 'Update' option does not show up, select 'Check for update' instead.

If you have done all of the previous steps and it is still not working for you, then please reach out to Roku here: Roku Support, for more assistance.

    All the best,
    Michelle

  • I do NOT have a Roku TV, TV is Sony, I have 4K Roku streaming stick which I used prior years. Checking now it states: Version: 211 b 2 /March 8, 2021. Will that version work???  It gives me an option to "remove channel" and I dare not, as afraid I can't get it back. When I pushed Go To Channel, it took me what was already on my TV. BUT, I have not rejoined again yet.

If that version works, I may join on monthly basis, to be sure there's enough to watch that's not just Chinese, gay movies, etc (no offense meant). If I join for a monthly basis, am I charged on same date each month??? Then if I upgrade, that charge is date I request(I read online, right?) and would run annually from then on?

Last question, it seems you have to PAY extra for movies now? Is that correct? The ones you are charging for, I've seen them all. WHO has to pay to see the movies???

Thanks for your help in this matter. Moanakai

  • Hi moanakai,

If your Roku Channel/App is version 2.11.2, you should not be seeing the app update message as it is updated to the latest now. If you are still seeing that message, please take a photo and attach it in your reply.

As for your subscription enquiries, these are the replies:

    1. If I join for a monthly basis, am I charged on same date each month???
Yes, you will billed on the same date unless there is a payment issue whereby the system will attempt to charge you on another date.

    2. Then if I upgrade, that charge is date I request(I read online, right?) and would run annually from then on?
Based on where you subscribe on, the charge date of your upgrade will differ. For more specifics, you may refer to this article

    3. it seems you have to PAY extra for movies now? Is that correct? The ones you are charging for, I've seen them all. WHO has to pay to see the movies???
Yes, we have just launched a 'Rental' feature for certain movies. For select movies (especially new releases), you will have to pay a one-time rental fee that is separate from the subscription cost. Several others will offer the option to either subscribe or rent. More details can be found here

    Hope this helps now.

    Cheers,
    Michelle

  • I had to get a new ROKU before I could get the app updated. That is all.
