[On-hold] Viki app not available on chromecast with Google tv
I have just purchased a Chromcast with Google TV. I see Viki shows listed so I clicked on it. However, it says Viki is not compatible with the version of my device.

We’re sorry to hear that some of you are still not able to install the Viki app on your Chromecast with Google TV device.
This is a known issue. We have informed Google of this and they have updated us that they are working to fix it. Appreciate your understanding that the app creator does not have control over who the app is available to when it comes to the installation/downloading of any application on the Google Play Store.
We’ve also had feedback from other users that waiting for a few days before trying again helped. Otherwise, you can try getting in touch with Google by following the steps here (If it's not too much hassle after, it also would be very helpful to our investigations if you could write to us indicating how Google has helped to resolve the issue for you).
We will update this thread again when Google comes back with a fix, in the meantime, if you are a subscriber, please use the Casting feature to view Viki on your TV, or from our other supported devices.

I'm having the same problem. It is installed on my other two Chromecast w/Gtv that have the same versions but it says I can't download it on the new one. Has this been fixed?
Same issue. I receive the message "This app is not available for your device" when I try to download the app. What is the solution?

Has this been fixed? We are having the same problem. Bought a brand new Google Chrome cast and tv for my mother so she can't watch Viki on the tv and it is saying that is your device is not compatible with this version.
The current version of Viki is 2.19.2
Is there a way to resolve this? Thank you
Hi! I was able to download the Viki app about a week after I posted the question. I clicked on one of the shows and gave me the option to download the Viki app. Viki version 2.19.2 is what it is currently at.
Same issue. Recently had to replace my google tv and was unable to download the app. I receiving the message "This app is not available for your device" . Has there been a resolution?
Same issue. Just installed Google TV last night and received "This app is not available for your device". Still waiting on the resolution??? I can cast in from my phone app, but I rather have the app in Google TV.

I'm having the same issue. Just bought a new Chromecast today to use specifically for Viki. Hope this gets fixed soon.
Same here. Works on one Chromecast, but not on the other. It says that "this version is not compatible with your device".
What is going on? This issue has been open since January and it's now the end of April. Also, you can't just cast from your phone in the meantime because that feature is locked behind the subscription paywall. I just want to be able to watch a couple of shows on my TV. This is ridiculous.
I'm having same issue. Brand new chromecast with google tv, and same issue as the original user. I can see viki shows when I am browsing, but if I click on viki to be brought to the download page I am being told that my device isn't compatible (despite it meeting requirements and also being designed to show viki shows even over other streaming services).

We're sorry that you're experiencing this issue. Our team is aware of it and will be looking into it as soon as they can.
We have forwarded all the information you provided to our engineering team and we expect to have a resolution for this problem when possible.
In the meantime, you may still use Chromecast to stream your shows to your TV device.
