[On-hold] Continue Watching not updating on Viki app

I noticed that recently my "Continue Watching" queue doesn't update. This is a problem at every devices on my account (web, tv app, phone app). I've tried closing the app and reboot but doesn't seem to help. There's no watch history either so it sometimes hard to know where you left off if you're watching multiple shows. 

Does anyone else had this problem before and know how to fix it?

  • I'm also having this issue and it's been going on for weeks. I've opened two support tickets and each time just told to log out, delete the app, and reinstall. Doesn't work. This is pretty annoying...

  • I am also facing an issue where none of my progress is being saved on WEB Viki. Mobile app my progress saves just fine. This started happening mid-July. None of the fixes such as deleting cookies and logging out worked.

  • I'm having a problem with the Viki app on Roku not keep track of where I left off in an episode (always restarting it from the beginning) or what episode I'm on. For instance, under Continue watching it'll show the ep that I was on (ep 26 of Love Like the Galaxy) but when I open it it starts off in the middle of ep 20.

  • Where I left off in an episode is once again broken. No adblock is on and followed the advice the previous this happened. The only thing saved is the last episode I watched which is only found on the front page of viki

  • I would seriously like to know if Viki is going down without telling the customers so we can't demand a refund on our subscription? The Continue Where I Left Off Issue, Not saving video to the time (blue line), and videos being deleted from our Watchlist are HUGE issues on a streaming platform which charges as much as it does. I could put my $99.99 to better use on at least 2 other streaming sites for the price of Viki. YET, I love Viki, and have chosen Viki over all other sites. PLEASE get your act together, or let us know well ahead of time to prepare us of shutdown.

  • I have also been having this issue on the Web version of viki, however it seems to be only happening with firefox, it wasn't saving my history on the web or updating my mobile app for a couple of weeks.  I tried all the troubleshooting advice but nothing I do can fix the issue on firefox of my watched episodes not updating.  I have now switched to chrome and everything is working as it should which makes me think its a browser specific issue with the viki web app at least.

  • All of a sudden Continue Watching disappeared on the Viki app on FIRETV. It does not show up in the Home section neither in my Profile. Now I have to search and go to every drama/show I'm currently watching. Please fix this. My mom also uses this app and prefers watching on tv cause subs are bigger. please please fix this.

  • Ugh, earlier today, my shows were mostly accurately showing the place I was at on more recent shows. Now it's a mess. It's like my spot on shows went back a week... I have no idea where I left off and spend so much time trying to find my spot 😩

    How long does viki track what I've watched? Nothing more than a month ago is marked where I've watched. There are some shows I've never finished because I can't find my place again. Please fix this viki!!!

  • I'm having the same problem on my TCL TV Roku app. Episodes out of sequence, new episodes not listed at all. The problem seems to be confined to the variety programs (My Little Old Boy, Running Man, 2 Days 1 Night, DNA, Home Alone, etc.) Unfortunately, those are the shows we watch the most.

    This problem is so frustrating I may not renew my Plus subscription next month. Michelle (Support Specialist) please add me to the support request.

  • I tried fixing the problem using the steps Riki and Michelle sent me. Thank you for the response.

    Unfortunately, it DID NOT work. I believe this is a problem VIKI needs to fix. The apparent disregard for the customers speaks volumes about Rakuten.

    Most of the shows on Viki are really good. However, my family LOVES the variety shows! I will cancel my PLUS subscription If we can't watch them.

  • Same problem as the many viewers ahead of me. The Viki App on my iPhone though keeps great score on where I left off, but my Macbook account online shows no record of what I watched when I go in to check my episodes, and also,  if I was halfway through something and came back to continue the next day, the episode reloads from the start of the hour...no record of where I stopped. Quite irksome. I hope someone somewhere at Viki has a great idea that will fix this. Thank you
