[Closed] Subtitles not working on viki roku
Until a few days ago the subtitles worked great on the roku viki app. Now not so much. For example: end of the world ep 1->5 eng subtitles but not for ep 6 though it says 99% en. Advancs bravely for 6 or so ok anythign after that no titles. It seems like the subtitles stopped working on x day, a couple days ago, and anything posted since they don't work. Anything before that they do. They work ok on computer or phone app. Subtitles work on everything else on roku except new stuff on viki..... I've tried: turning off/on, logging in/out, Uninstaller/reinstall. I've checked that subtitles are on on the roku. The cc is toggled on. Viki is becoming more of a pain than a benefit. Most of the time you can find everything thats not viki original somewhere else, usually free, and subtitled a day before its available on Viki app.

Same issue and have done the same steps to try to resolve.
I just tried this and it fixed the issue:
Once video starts to play, on your remote press the asterisk button.
The video will pause. Choose the 2nd subtitles for English version. (In the options for language). The 1st one seemed to not be working for some reason and when I chose the 2nd one, voila! It worked.
Holy crap, that worked! I had hit the * and gone to accessibility & captions to check that English was on before posting but never thought to look for a second English.

The only downside is it seems I have to do that with every show that I was having an issue with and if I leave the ap and come back to an episode I fixed earlier later i have to redo those steps. Glad I can watch but seems like something is still wonky.
