[SOLVED] Continue Watching not updating on Viki app
I noticed that recently my "Continue Watching" queue doesn't update. This is a problem at every devices on my account (web, tv app, phone app). I've tried closing the app and reboot but doesn't seem to help. There's no watch history either so it sometimes hard to know where you left off if you're watching multiple shows.
Does anyone else had this problem before and know how to fix it?

i am also having this problem, last night i watched hotel del luna and i went to bed because it was late at night and now when i go into continue watching, it doesn't show up??
This just started happening for me too in that last few days. I hope this gets fixed soon!!
Tried deleting app, clearing history, reloading app, refreshing ‘Continue Watching’ on iPad.
On pc, tried deleting Viki.com bookmark, etc. no luck.
Same issue here, I really hope it gets fixed soon.
This is an issue extending back for months and has resumed in the past three weeks. Viki “engineers” have fixed nothing in what is a simple requirement every other streaming app from Netflix to Prime uses—and they don’t suggest WE do things to fix THEIR issue. When they eventually drive VIKI out of business just like Drama Fever, we will be caught in the middle again.
BTW, mazzyangel, no one is being rude; we are paying customers and have rights to comment same as you. VIKI has done nothing to resolve this issue going back months. We have been more than patient: it didn’t work. If VIKI doesn’t behave more professionally, they will be bought out. I don’t want that to happen.
I have been a long time subscriber and have never had any issues until the last 2 weeks or so. My continue watching is not updating as well on any device. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, logged out and in, I even went on my computer and removed all the older shows that I had in my contiue watching list. None of these worked. Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon as this is one of my favorite features.
It happened a couple of times before for me as well. I was able to fix it but login out and login back in. Well this trick doesn’t work anymore. I started watching the witch’s diner and it doesn’t even show in my continue watching list. I also finished bossom steal the fate and it is stuck at episode 18… I noticed that when I go to the show page of previous shows I have watched , I have lost my viewing history (the blue line that indicates the episodes watched)
Please help as it is an important feature when watching several show at the same time. Thanks
I started having this issue about a week ago. One difference I do notice, compared to others with the same problem, only shows that are on air are not being added to continuing watching or indicating what episodes have been watched. All older shows are updating just fine.
I’m also having an issue with Continue Watching and Watch history not updating. Deleting and reinstalling the app does nothing. This problem is occurring on EVERY device so the problem must be with the VIKI app. I’m patient and can wait for the fix, but please let us know someone is working the issue.
I began experiencing this problem about a week ago, also. I’m glad to see it’s not isolated to me. Hopefully the tech team can find the bug and get it fixed soon.
I am also having this problem. I have been trying to watch doom at your service but it only shows that I have watched it till episode 4 even if I am in episode 10. The continue watching is not working for me. Please fix this problem. Thank you.
I am also having this problem. It started 3 or 4 days ago.
I’m having the same issue and after reading all the different comment on it, I want to know if Viki has any update on when this will be fixed. It seems to have been going on for a while not and I’m having a hard time understanding how a company as big as this one has not fixed this issue yet or even any update as to when it will be fixed. I pay for my subscription and I feel that this is not something I or anyone wants to keep dealing with. Viki it time for you to inform us when this will be fixed and give us an update.
It is the same with me. Started happening this week! Hope they get it fixed soon.
Hi everyone,
We're sorry that you're still experiencing this issue with your watch markers / Continue Watching not being updated. Thanks for sharing your findings about the issue as well!
Our team will need more time to look into this and we will definitely provide updates when we have them.
We greatly appreciate your patience!
Best,
Michelle
Hello. My continue watching stuff is not updating as well. Can someone give me an update on how close the technical support is from resolving the issue ?
Thank you
I've been having the same issue as you all for the past couple of weeks and I even emailed Viki Support and was given "basic" Troubleshooting of logging out of the account and back in and also clearing out cookies, browsing data, and cache with no resolution at all to this matter. Highly upsetting since I am a paying subscriber and my issue was closed by Viki support with no actual assistance given to this particular problem.
@flairoh,
Sadly this seems to be the standard response.
There is no visibility as to when or if a full service will be restored. It is also quite astonishing that they have left this problem go on since March.
You would think that as a good will gesture they would at least offer compensation for the sub par service we are still all receiving, but it seems that customer care may not be on a high priority list.
This is also happening to me for at least a week. I have to watch Episode 31 over and over again. To get to the right episode on Roku I have to scroll, wait to load next 12 episodes, and it's really tedious. It's like it's stuck from a certain day a week ago. Frustrated.
I have tried on my phone, iPad, computer, and Roku. I agree completely that the urgency to assist customers and resolve issues is truly lacking with Viki. Amazing selection of dramas and I hope this issue is resolved soon so they do not lose customers and we then have to find another service to watch our favorites.
I myself have noticed this for about a week. I was waiting it out but coming across this, I now know this is a large problem. I have stopped watching my dramas for a while as I watch many dramas at one time and can't remember where I left off without the continue watching function. Even when I go to the drama/TV show itself it doesn't have the watch (blue bar) indicator for the episodes I know I did watch.
I would just like to add, if someone hasn't already mentioned it, this is also a problem on my FireTV. So it's it's not updating for my iPad, Computer, and FireTV.
I'm glad you guys are working on this issue, although I'm slightly concerned this was an issue for some in March and it seems to be growing. But, I would like to know is there going to be an email that goes out to us when this problem is fixed so I know when I can start watching again?
I’m logged in right now: They are not “working”: Nothing has been done to help us.
This is the prelude before VIKI going out of business. I also took this issue to their FB page. But any “company” that can’t maintain its site, much less respond to its customers for days is crashing. Fortunately we have other options now as the world becomes increasingly aware of how great Asian drama is.
This problem has been happening on and off since I started my subscription a few months ago and there have been no updates for a week. Sometimes I can use the Followed Shows category to keep track of where I have left off.
A good update, sort of.
Today I watched part of ep 16 on Gumiho on my phone. When I got home, my laptop splash screen showed ep. 16 and took me to where I left off.
Continue Warching, however continues to be stale.
I’m also having issues with my continue watching not updating. I’ve watched 13 episodes of a show and it has never updated. Quite frustrating trying to find where I left off on the show. Please fix
the long and the short is they are not interested in fixing any issue you may have.
this update problem has affected me for two weeks and i am fixing to unsubscribe and try kocowa on roku.
viki deserves to close because they dont care about the most critical thing in business the customer
ill give them a week and i hope that anyone who reads this will follow my example and move on and try kocowa in hopes of better service
I am also having the same issue with the Continue Watching not updating. It is so frustrating. On top of that, I can't even properly cast Viki without subtitle issues both on chromecast and airplay. All these issues have been going on for months and Viki said they were going to fix it as soon as possible. I am also pretty upset as a premium member that these issues have been going on for way too long. Please please!!! fix these issues as soon as you can.
I am having this problem too, starting about a week ago. It's very annoying, in all the ways mentioned by others above.
It's nice to know I'm not alone, but terrible to know that the engineering team have been "trying their best" since March but still need "more time" to find a solution.
I hope Viki will give a rebate to all paying subscribers in recognition of the fact that a major functionality of the site has not been working at all for a steadily increasing number of subscribers over the last four months. Expressions of appreciation for our patience are a necessary minimum politeness from Viki, but really not helpful at this point.
I also have this problem, my continue watching list hasn't updated since last week. My watched episodes have thankfully been marked as watched, but going through my watch list or needing to search for the show I'm watching is very frustrating. I hope this issue will be fixed soon.
I noticed updates to my Apple apps in the last day or so. The Continue Watching seems to be accurate on my iPhone app now, and it’s better (though not completely accurate yet) on my appletv. So I think they are working to address the issue.
