[Closed] Subtitles not working
I have subtitles set up but when I use Viki through Roku the subtitles are not showing up when I play my shows. This issue started last Tuesday & has not been resolved.

I am having the same issue.I have had no English subtitles since Thursday on my Roku Viki app. That is for all the episodes of all shows since Thursday.Previous episodes still have the English subtitles. My other streaming apps aren't having a problem with English subtitles. Only the Viki app.I don't have a problem getting subtitles on my mobile phone but I want to watch Viki on my Roku tv
Hi. The following work around was given to me by a Viki representative. It worked for me to get the subtitles back. See the below.
For the time being, we have found a workaround that you can try so you can watch the shows with the EN subtitles.
Go to the video.
Once it starts, on your remote control, press * (asterisk).
The video will pause and a pop-up menu will appear.
Scroll down to Caption track and select 2 of 2 (English).
Once this is done, scroll down and select Close to exit the pop-up menu. The EN subtitles should appear after this.
To get subtitles I have to cast then stop casting and then cast again and MAYBE I'll get subtitles. Or maybe I'll have to do that process again. Viki has a great business model pay more and get less. I canceled Viki because of the ongoing subtitles and thought by now they would figure it out. But NOOO it is worse. This is only one of many problems with their site.
I have used viki long before rakuten, and dramafever before that. While the fix above worked, I don't like "fixes" when the site works normally for all other episodes. Fix the problem, on raks side, with the latest episodes. "Fixes" may work for this particular rak problem but may have a ripple effect on areas that were previously fine with the first English option.
I just saw this post. I chose the 2nd option for English subtitles and it worked to fix the problem. (will post on other questions)
