[On-hold] Roku Layout changes

I have Viki on Roku in the US and WHAT did they do to the homescreen layout? My "continue watching" only plays the rest of the episode I was on and stops. No next episode option. The categories (which were at the top) are GONE. I watch Viki daily and it was not like this yesterday...anyone else?

  • All the complaints regarding the Roku app problems are falling on deaf ears. I, for one, will not renew my subscription. I don't have the time to search on my laptop for a show I want to watch on Viki. There are too many other options on Roku than to waste my time first searching Viki on my laptop and then switching to my Roku. I just want to relax for a short time before to sleep. I don't have the time to waste going through a convoluted process to watch a show. In fact, I will not even waste any more time sending messages to Viki. I AM DONE.

  • Resume watching is not working in my Android TV viki app. Each time i pause or close, I need to unistall and install again to watch the shows

  • The variety shows that have been on air for years is sorting from earliest to latest. This means I need to scroll past hundreds of episodes before I can watch the most recent episode. When will this be reversed or when will you add an option in the Roku app to allow users to change this setting?

  • Is there really still no update on when the reversal of the viki layout for roku will happen? It seems at this point nothing is being done to even fix this issue. This Viki Roku layout is so user unfriendly and is just impossible to use. I thought I would give it time since this post was on hold and yall said it would be fixed but since there has been no update on this And Im paying for a subscription that I barely use anymore because I cannot browse for anything its almost to the point that I will have to cancel if it is not addressed soon. Just a big waste
    Of money at this point.

  • I’m happy to report that with the latest Roku app update which you may have to initiate manually going to setting system and system update After many many months of agonizing Vicki seems to have listen to reason restored filtering through the new  explore  tab in the Roku app which also includes a new show filter

  • But on mine there are no genres, like reality shows, mystery, etc. Only the ability to look at different countries and ALL of the content from that country. Or you can look at ALL countries and sort by most watched. This is not at all the same. unless mine is not working right. Can you sort by country and genres like mystery, historical, period drama, etc.?

  • We did get the update on our roku and the search by country is back! Yes! thank you so much Viki. The lack of search by country was a real issue for us because we mostly find shows we want to watch by browsing through by country.

    Continue playing episode to episode is working for us, and also the watch and continue watching lists are working. The update seems to be stable at least on our two roku devices (box and stick).

  • Is anyone having trouble with Viki on Roku where the entire viki app crashes when you click on a drama summary? I put in a ticket since I’ve un downloaded and re downloaded it twice and it still does the same thing.

  • I'm really glad the search by country to back, BUT I notice that an awful lot of shows are now blocked that weren't before.  Also, I'm not able to call up the list of episodes for particular shows as I was able to do previously, for example The Red Sleeve.  

    Finally, what happened to Chuno/Slave Hunters?  It suddenly disappeared and I was watching it!

  • I can't watch anything on the Roku app for Viki. All episodes are unavailable, no matter what it it. I can get to my watchlist, but can't watch anything on it! The episode lists are empty. If I try to get to the last show I watched, the app tells me it's not available. It figure this happens after I renew for the year. So not happy with this. Again.

    Edited to add: it was working fine last night (July 28, 2022). There are no shows accessible today.

  • None of my watch list entry episodes are available with this latest update 3.2; all episodes are blocked, and certain choices in the Viki lineup and movie notes kick me all the way out back to my Roku menu.  Viki can not deliver consistent access, as well as not returning full range genre headings to each country that was available before all the update fiasco months ago.  All the same operational problems with 3.2 as the update from months ago.

  • Got the latest update, worked fine for 3 days, then last night, when I tried to watch a show I was following, in the middle of the show I got a message stating that I had a disconnect from my Roku. When I checked other apps, they all worked fine. Then when I went back to Viki and tried to continue watching I repeatedly got kicked back to the main menu. Finally after 30 minutes of fiddling around I finnaly got to finish what I was watching. As I stated before, once my membership expires, I won't renew. The fools don't know what they are doing; this has been going on for seven months.

    The Roku app had some intermittent issues earlier but they should now be fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

  • Thank you. I was able use the Roku app to watch shows on Saturday evening, July 30. I have had no issues since then.

  • Viki has a fine library and website, but its Roku app is NG!  Six months now and the prior version 2 still outperformed the new v3.  I once mused about why this might be so.  My post vanished, so I won't go there again.  On a happier note, I just saved $99!  And I just saved $300 on car insurance by switching (true).  There are lessons to be learned here.

  • I just experienced the new interface change in my region yesterday (Mexico end of July 2022). Who let this nightmare 'update' happen and ruin a good thing? Why? I agree with many posters...I will not renew my subscription unless this insane mistake is repaired. I won't even outline specifics because the entire change is a total mess.... seriously worsening the Viki experience to the point of ending it. Please put it back to the way it was before this stunningly ruinous change.

  • finally completely fixed with latest update explore now has categories they did not care to tell us so i am posting here you may need to manually update.

  • I dont loke this new version. They added explore again but also put the categories in and it is not same as before where you can scroll through all the shows. Also before I could put filters the same way I could on web version now the only filters are by countries, popular/new, or rom-com/period-fantasy. On top of it the home screen is cut on the borders.
