[On-hold] Roku Layout changes

I have Viki on Roku in the US and WHAT did they do to the homescreen layout? My "continue watching" only plays the rest of the episode I was on and stops. No next episode option. The categories (which were at the top) are GONE. I watch Viki daily and it was not like this yesterday...anyone else?

  • Yes, I really miss the play next button. I'm on episode 48 of my show and I have to scroll through them all! N I like Chinese dramas, so it was nice having a sort by country n genre feature. Viki was perfect the way it was before.

  • Even they say they have nothing to do with Roku then Why did this all happen after the last update!

    They are just trying to pass the buck to Roku so they can say their update didn't cause the problem and we all know thats not true.

    Viki take responsibility for your screwed update and fix it.

  • It's almost impossible to navigate the interface to find a show with this layout. My parents stop using the app due to this reason. If the problem is consist, I have to stop the subscription.

  • Nine days later and Roku/Viki format is still a hot mess without any signs of improvement.  Roku's site is silent on the subject, so it appears the Roku customers will be left hanging until Viki feels sufficient pressure to call in capable IT personnel.

  • I also contacted Roku.

    Here is there response:

    "If the issue persists, Please contact the Viki app support to resolve the issue. Each channel on the Roku platform is built and maintained by the channel provider directly."

    Viki - When will the reported issues be corrected???

  • The new Viki app on Roku is awful!!! This is not an upgrade but a total downgrade!!!

    It is not usable for me in the current state. Why?

    ***Autoplay does not work.

    ***The next episode button is missing from the video page.

    ****The Font and Images are TOO SMALL!!! I have a 60 inch TV and I have to get up and stand in front of the TV to see the menu. At least if you're going to do something like this, have an ACCESSIBLE feature that allows me to have LARGER FONT AND IMAGES. I will seriously have to unsubscribe from Viki if this is not fixed because I'm not going to be standing in front of the TV all day.

    ***You can no longer search using the GENRE and LANGUAGE options. The EXPLORE feature was one of my favorite features that I used ALL the time.

  • Hate the new interface and layout. The filtering option to search for the shows by genre and country is gone and that was one of the best features of this app. Its frustrating trying to find shows now without that option.. Please revert back to the old interface asap or you will be losing a lot of subscribers including me.

  • New format is totally unacceptable. Oh how I long for the good ole days of Drama Fever. It's clear the programmers don't have a clue how us users use the Roku app. All I want to do is browse by different countries and other simple filters to hone in on something that looks interesting. Get your act together soonest or expect to follow in Drama Fever's footsteps to a footnote in history. I for one won't tolerate this total lack of professionalism for something that I pay for.

  • The new format is awful it’s hard to find shows unless you know the title, can’t sort by country or genre, no serching just movies, the text is hard to read cause it’s small, trailers are no longer available, the continue watching doesn’t work, the next episode button is missing.

    Things I like well my watchlist and followed shows being available because with continue watching not working it allows me to get to my show/episode quicker than searching. I also like the coming soon list but I’d give both those up if it meant the older (maybe less aesthetically pleasing) home page and features that actually work.

  • The new format takes away great features, but just a heads up, if you have the app on your phone, the features that are gone for Roku are still accessible on Android, for now.

  • I agree as well. The new layout is awful and frustrating. You can’t explore to find shows to watch anymore and the font is really small. I hope the fix this soon or I’m going to have to look into something else.

  • I didn't realize this was here and just made a post about it, was gonna try to reach them but figured a post would help me figure out if others had the same issue. Turns out a lot do. Seriously if they don't fix it, I will cancel my premium plus pass. It's bad enough you can't access the collections you make for dramas to watch on the website, on your TV app. But this is going too far. I literally can't start a new drama. And the one I'm on isn't really suiting my mood rn. What am I supposed to do?

  • The "we are aware and are working on it" post is over a week old.  Isn't that a bit long ago? No update on this issue (and it IS an issue).  Just put it back the way it was.  Find the code and make it work.  This is ridiculous.

  • I will add my voice to all these posts. The new app is an absolute travesty! Roll back to the old, AND USEFUL app immediately!!

    Whoever designed this mess should be fired immediately.

    My wife and I can no longer search for, or find, anything to watch on Viki. If this is not corrected IMMEDIATELY, you will lose us and MANY other subscribers.

    Also, stop saying you will pass the complaints to "your team". DO SOMETHING to restore what we PAID for NOW.

  • Agree. They noted there were issues and there seems to be no updates on the status. Have been unable to watch regular shows since it takes too long to get to current episode and there are much easier apps (hiya ntflx). Just canceled my subscription of over 3 years. I may return when it gets updated. Bye now 👋 .

  • I am canceling. Is this change due to the news that Netflix is going to cherry pick and get the bulk of new Korean shows. I don’t think mixing all of the other shows together is going to fool anyone. Be transparent and try to make your channel something people want to watch. By doing this you are going to lose even more subscribers.

  • I will add my opinions to all of the above. The new home screen and search feature is horrible. My wife watches Viki most of the day and totally cannot find or search for new shows with the updated menu screen. I agree with many of the other "posters"  I am not willing to pay for a program that makes you search through every program for something you might like. Sometimes the end user should be questioned before the design team makes the changes. Seems to me the tail is wagging the head on this issue of design and functionality of the Viki program. I will give it another few weeks, if not corrected I will give my business elsewhere.

  • We are seriously begging you to revert back to what it was before. All of the above issues plus on older shows when you go to the episode list it starts at the beginning which on the TV version means you have to scroll allllll the way up to the more current episodes which is stupid.

  • I really dont like the new version. I cant find the shows and even the main layout looks like half cut. It was one of the best things to scroll to find ur shows. Bring back the old version.

  • Horrible horrible horrible....I can not stress how much I dislike this new home page I would suggest getting a more user friendly homepage or here's a novel thought just go back to what it was it wasn't broken so why were you fixing it.... I have been a paying subscriber for a long time and am now considering leaving because of this it is extremely irritating and it is not convenient to be able to look for any new shows or navigate around.....FIX IT NOW

  • Just canceled my Viki subscription - refuse to pay for this new change because of its useless format and aggravation.  May return once they correct this problem but so far they have done nothing.

  • Please, can you just bring back the older version while you work on fixes to the new Home screen? This is really hard to use today and degrade the value of Viki. Why pay for such bad application where you can't find what look for.

  • The new layout is unusable like everyone said on the post.  You would need to do a "search" for a movie to get back where you had left off.

  • Buenas tardes yo uso viki rakute hace 2 años pagado  y  que horrible como dejaron los cambios realizados, cuando entro a viki y miro un drama no me guarda los avances y cuando finalizo el episodio no tengo la opción de saltar al siguiente episodio para poder hacerlo tengo que ingresar al drama como si fuera la primera vez que voy a verlo de igual forma no aparece la opción para buscar según país o por categoría. Espero pronto se solucione sino dejare de usarlos y cancelaré me suscripción.
