[Solved] Whenever playing a video, the app is showing "oops! Something went wrong... "

Whenever I play any drama, it's showing something went wrong and I am facing the problem over two months now, I have tried every possible thing like, uninstalling and installing it again, log in, log out. But it's just not working. It's frustrating now.

    If you haven't already, please try the following first:

    1. Delete and Reinstall the Viki app
    2. Reboot your device
    3. Log back into your account

    Are you still experiencing these issues with the video player? If so, please provide the following information:

    • Does this occur on all shows you watch? If not, please let us know the specific shows and episodes you're having problems with (ex. "Chicago Typewriter" Episode 2)
    • What's your device and Operating System version?
    • What version of the Viki app are you using? You can find it on the app settings.

  • it usually happens to me when i fast forward too often. so i just skip like five seconds ahead when i get it to reload. i know that doesn't really help, but that's what I do.

    I have tried everything but it's not working.

    1. Two months ago, I could watch some of the dramas but now, none of the dramas are watchable.
    2. My device is an Android phone. It is Redmi 9 prime and the android version is- 10 QP1A. 190711.020 , Operating system version- MIUI Global 11.0.6
    3. And the version of Viki app, I am using is (6.7.0)

    Could you update your app to version 6.8.0 before trying again? This should be out in a few days if you do not see the new version available yet.

    Alternatively, you may try out the Beta version if you do not want to wait for the new release.

    Our team made some adjustments in the latest app update that might help with the issue you're facing.

  • Hi, just want to let you know that I have the exact same issues

    I am also on a Redmi mobile/Android and the Viki app won't play any of the shows anymore. I have upgraded to the latest version and also joined the Beta version but it hasn't helped at all.

  • Since the last update (today, 2021.01.23) when I went in to watch an episode of the series, the video cannot be loaded and the image is frozen. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still won't (sorry for my bad english)...

    I tried to watch videos, only the videos of the series "Love cells 1", "Mischievous kiss 2: Love in Tokyo" were watchable and for others, it's still not working.

    Our engineers did some adjustments for your device too so that might have helped with your issue.

    Please note NOT to re-install or un-install the app, or clear your device cache/data. Doing so will reset the unique fix that was enabled for your device.

    Kindly ensure to only UPDATE the Viki app when a new version is available.
