[Solved] Licensed for Europe but restricted access.

In some cases I have inconsistent info about content - from one side there is a message, that film\drama is licensed for Europe, but from the other I have restricted access.

Example: "W is licensed for The America's, Europe, Middle East and Oceania. + QCs and is a VIKIPASS EXCLUSIVE.
The Series is subtitled in 25 languages only on viki!"

but: "Sorry, this content is not licensed for your region."

Could you please help me to understand, how does it work?

Where I can check if my region is set correctly?

  • Hi there,

As we can only license dramas for a limited amount of time, certain shows may no longer be licensed in some regions over time.

This is the case for 'W' whereby it is no longer available in Europe and that is why you are seeing the restricted access message.

As for the other messaging on the show pages, I believe what you are seeing is the wall that is created by the community volunteer team. Most of the text here was posted during the show's launch and might not be updated. We apologize for the confusion and we'll be reaching out to the community volunteer team on this.

In summary, to see if the show is licensed in your region or not, you may note if the 'restricted access' message appears.

You can find new and exciting content on the Explore page! If there's a specific TV show or movie you want to be added to Viki, you can request it here too.

    Hope this clarifies!
