[Closed] Newly created collections never appear in My Collections; they briefly appear in the drop-down and allow me to add shows, then disappear
** Multiple people have posted with this same issue for at least 2 years. Viki's response is always for the person to get help from Support privately, then Viki closes the post and labels it "solved". Please, please do not tell me to work with Support - no offense, it's just not helpful to the community when Viki only helps one person at a time (in private) with problems that are obviously widespread and affect many of its users. Thank you! **
This is a service bug, not a user-related glitch. Please fix it for everyone. I'm a cloud architect and former software engineer, I've already "donated" too much of my personal time to Viki to verify that this is *not* a client side issue. This is a system/service side bug that affects a nontrivial number of paid subscribers. I'm a paid subscriber, I watch for hours every single night, and Collections was a VERY useful feature for those of us who watch hundreds of shows. We're the people who will keep watching and paying as long as the service works reliably. This is the third time a really basic feature has inexplicably stopped working and doesn't get fixed for months or years despite multiple help forum posts and Support tickets.
I understand that Viki engineering has to prioritize work, and this bug probably doesn't seem to be affecting revenue much - but Viki hasn't paid a cent for the thousands of translations and subtitling edits that Viki community volunteers do for thousands of videos. (They don't even get free subscriptions in exchange.) So it would be nice if Viki would prioritize the user experience and make sure the existing user-facing features work...rather than doing things like integrating new marketing / tracking and other third-party services that actually *cause* issues (such as watch progress not saving unless users allow litix to track their usage for marketing purposes) . :)
