[Closed] Translation priorities?

Hi,

How does Viki plan the shows' translations?

I am asking this question because some of the shows apparently have a very low translation speed, or the shows are translated in what appear to be a random order, whereas other shows are very well planed and executed and the 100% translations follow the order the episodes are released.

As examples of what appear to be low priority (or the translation teams struggling to do it?) are: My Lethal Man (over one month and still several episodes not complete), Wu Lin Heroes and Delivery Man (those with several episodes incomplete, the former released over a month ago), The Science of Falling in Love (translation readiness not following the episodes' release order).

An example of perfectly planned and synchronized shows is Miss Chun Is a Litigator.  The episodes 100% has been following their release.

So, what I am curious about is why some episodes' translations fall so much behind whereas others are really well done?

Thanks!

    Hi msrossi1_257,

Thank you for reaching out to Viki Community Support regarding your subtitle concern.

We understand your curiosity about the delay in subtitle availability for some shows while others are completed much faster.

Viki does not translate or subtitle content ourselves; instead, our passionate contributor community (people like you!) subtitle content on Viki. You can learn more about our contributor community here. When subtitles for a video don’t appear or are incomplete, the community has not finished with the subtitling yet. But don’t worry, they’ll get to it very soon!

Our team is working hard to provide accurate subtitles for all of our content, but sometimes there are unforeseen delays in the process. Additionally, since each show has a different group of contributors, the rate of subtitling completion will vary and we appreciate your patience on this.

You can check a video if it has been completely subtitled by referring to the subtitle completion percentage at the bottom of the video thumbnail.

Hope that clarifies! If you have other concerns, please write to our Help Center at watch.viki.com/UserSupport and we'd be happy to assist you. Have a good day!

    Thank you,
    Darl
