App not allowing me to cast to my Samsung tv from Android phone OR from iPad

The Viki app is not allowing me to cast to my Samsung smart TV from my Samsung phone or from my iPad. I paid for a subscription partly so I could cast, and my TV dosent appear in the casting options on the app. My TV appears fine in casting options for all my other streaming apps, but not Viki. It still only shows my Google hub as the only option when I press the cast icon, which it already did before I paid for a subscription. I need help with this asap please!

    Hello,

    Thanks for writing in! 

    Could you clarify if you are trying to cast with Chromecast and not any other mirroring/casting app on your TV? Do note that Viki only supports casting via Chromecast. 

    If you are using Chromecast, can you please try the following first?

    1. Log out from your account
    2. If you're on an Android device, clean the cache and cookies on your device
    3. Uninstall and reinstall both the Viki and Google Home app on your device.
    4. Turn your mobile device off and on again.
    5. Reboot your Chromecast device from the Google Home app
    6. Turn off your internet router, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
    7. Make sure Chromecast is connected to the same Wifi network as your device. Also do note that they are either on the same 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi network.
    8. Log back in to your Viki account and try casting again.

    Are you still having the same issues with the Viki app and Chromecast? If so, can you please provide the following information?

    • Your Chromecast model and firmware version (For steps to check firmware version, refer to the bottom of this page or check your TV settings)
    • A screenshot or short video of the error message or issue.
