[Closed] closed captioning not working on many shows

Once again Viki is not displaying English subtitles on Roku and is not holding the cc option from one show to the next, specifically Kokdu and The Love in Your Eyes latest episodes.

  • I am having the same issue. I’ve restarted my Roku and just Viki is having this issue. You can see the subtitles on earlier episodes, of a series, but anything today won’t have it. Even when it’s 100% translated.

  • Same problem here.  I've been watching 'Heavenly Idol' and 'Kokdu:Season of Deity' . Subtitles for Kokdu stopped with episode 11 (supposedly 99% translated) and Idol subtitles ended with episode 6 (also 99% translated)  Prior episodes for both shows still have subtitles. ???

  • Same for me on episodes of The Starry Love.  From Episode 14 no subtitles but says 100% EN.

  • In the show, try going to Accessibility / Languages and see if you have a second choice for English. Choosing the other English fixed it for me last night!

  • On Roku - Close captions are not working on shows I am trying to watch - the latest version of Taxi Driver 2 and the movie The Point Man. If I watch older episodes or older shows and close captions work.

  • I notice the screen is narrower on the new shows so maybe the subtitles are hidden?

  • Thanks for the suggestion junkystuff919_616. I can only see one English option. So unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I'll have to watch it on my tablet instead :(
