What is a Moderator and what do they do?

Moderators

There are three types of moderators: English Moderators, All Language Moderators, and Other Language Moderators. Overall, Moderators must be current and active on Viki. They should be willing to provide quality contributions to the community and be a vital player with their teammates. It is important for Moderators to be regularly available for the entire run of a series and recruit any other team members as needed.

Position Requirements

  • Contribute at least 3000 subtitles, in the preferred language that you wish to moderate, before becoming a Moderator.
  • Gold QC Gold QC Contributors should not work on more than 5 on-air Channels at the same time as a Moderator, regardless of the show being considered on-air or library.
  • QC QC Contributors should not work on more than 3 on-air Channels at the same time as a Moderator, regardless of the channel being considered on-air or library.
  • QC Trainee QC Trainee Contributors should not work on more than 1 on-air Channel at the same time as a Moderator, regardless of the channel being considered on-air or library.

Team Responsibilities

  • You may create individual Channel rules that align with the Channel Manager, but those rules may not conflict with the Viki Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or Community Guidelines.
  • Recruit contributors, test competency of contributors & assign tasks related to your specific language.

Channel Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Channel.
Note: For upcoming on-air titles, this includes channel team recruitment before the title begins as well as management/moderation of the channel team during and after a title is on-air; for library titles, this includes being an active point of contact with Moderators, channel team members and/or interested contributors.
