How do I set up my profile?

Mariliam -

Your profile is a place where Viki users can find out more about you, like the shows you follow and your subtitling/segmenting activity. Account settings, on the other hand, is where you can adjust your subtitle and email settings, and connected accounts (like Facebook and Google+).

Edit Profile:

  1. Click the dropdown menu at the top right of the Viki homepage, and choose "Edit Profile’"

  2. From here, you can edit your full name, username, birthday and gender

...beside the ‘Edit Profile’ tab, you will also see four more tabs: About Me, Password, Account Settings and Viki Pass Settings. Here is some more information about those tabs:

About Me

You can customize your profile in this tab. Check out what other users have in their profiles! Be sure to read this FAQ if you want to use HTML code in your profile.

Password

This is where you can change your password to a new one. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Enter your current password in the Current password field

  2. Enter your new password in the New password field

  3. Confirm your new password in the Password Confirmation and hit "Update Password"

Account Settings

This is where you can make changes to your subtitle language, email settings, and several other things. Here’s the description of each section in the tab:

  • Subtitle language preference: You can select the subtitle language you want to see in the videos you watch in this section. Just click the drop down arrow and select your preferred subtitle language.

  • Email Settings: You can change the email address associated to your username in this section. You can also select whether or not you want to receive certain email notifications here.

  • Connected Accounts: Want to connect or unlink your Viki account to your Facebook and/or Google+? This is the place to do it! Click ‘Connect to Facebook’ and follow the instructions in the window that appear.
