[Closed] Subtitles on Roku

I was trying to watch on some shows on my Roku where 100% of the subtitles were done, and the subtitles wouldn’t show up. It works on my phone app, but I’d rather watch it on the larger TV screen. I’ve tried turn the captions on/off, uninstalling/reinstalling the Viki app, checking the system settings and everything is fine except for the fact that subs aren’t showing up for any shows. I know it’s a Viki problem because every other streaming service I have is completely fine. Does anyone else have this problem?


  • While watching the latest episodes your subtitles quit working.  I find this most annoying and a waste of money.  If you cannot produce new episodes and make sure that the subtitles are complete, then stop selling to America.

    We're sorry that the video you want to watch hasn't been subtitled yet.

    We don't actually translate or subtitle content ourselves; instead, our passionate volunteer community (people like you!) subtitle content on Viki. You can learn more about our volunteer community here.

    When subtitles for a video don’t appear or are incomplete, the community has not finished with the subtitling yet. This is especially so for new episodes. But don't worry, they'll get to it very soon!

    You can check a video if it has been completely subtitled by referring to the subtitle completion percentage at the bottom of the video thumbnail.
