[Solved] Fast Forward and rewind

Why can I no longer fast forward or rewind on my anroid app> The functions are not even showing up on the screen anymore. Thanks.

    Thank you for your patience while our teams were working on a fix for the rewind/forward app issue on Fire and Android TV devices.

    We're glad to say that the new Viki version 2.6.4 is now available. Please update the app and log back into your account.

  • Hi both,

    Could you please try to reinstall your Viki app + re-login first? 

    If that does not help with the issue, please sharing the following:

    • What is the version of the Viki app are you using? You can find this information in the app settings.
    • Which device and model number are you using?
    • Which specific movies or episodes are causing this issue? Please give as many details as possible
    • A screenshot/picture of the screen that does not show those functions.

  • I reinstalled the Viki app and logged back in. It’s still the same. I cannot rewind/fast forward using the Firestick remote either.
    This is happening on all shows. The app version is 2.6.3.

  • I am on version 2.6.2, I have restarted it and logged in and out. It happens on all shows. I'm using a Samsung TV through. Nividia device.

  • Since I uninstalled and reinstalled the Viki app on the firestick it's 2.6.3
    It doesn't matter the show I am watching is happening. It's weird because on Sunday 19th it worked then I noticed some of the videos itself would stick so much it became annoying and then by Tuesday it didn't work and I couldn't skip forward or back.
    I cleaned cache and data and reinstalled and nothing.

  • I am having the same issue as of 7/23/20.  No issues yesterday.  Viki app is version 2.6.3 and I have cleared the cache.

    Rewinding:  in the past, would rewind for approximately 8 seconds when button was pressed.  Today, when you click the rewind button, it rewinds the timer 30 seconds but only puts the show on pause.  I have to hit play to resume and the timer readout and show become out of sync.  

    Forwarding:  in the past would forward for approximately 8 to 10 seconds when button was pressed.  Today, when you press the forward button, it advances the timer 30 seconds but only puts the show on pause.  When you hit play to resume, the timer has advanced but the show has not.

  • Fast forward and rewind does not work. Time counter advances or rolls back but the show remains in the same spot. I can only pause and play. All other apps on my firestick work. Reinstalling Viki does not work. Clearly this is a widespread issue. Very aggravating. Please fix.

  • I have same problem: FF and Rewind on Firestick can be used as buttons only. It doesn't do anything - the show continues where I left off. This is on TVs.  On desktop and iPad I can move the "blue dot" and make it go where I want, but it's a hassle.

  • Please fix! Sometimes you miss a line and want to go back and I should be able to do this on a firestick with no issues. Obviously watching on a computer or an iPad is a less pleasurable viewing experience. Where is an update on this? It’s been 5 days since it was reported. If this can’t be resolved, viki should consider partial refund on subscriptions as we are paying for a service that is not performing well. Thank you

  • Am facing this too since a week on fire stick. The FF and rewind options on screen are missing. And they don’t work on the fire stick remote too. The app on ios has no issues though but frustrating to watch on small screen.

  • Is there an eta on when this will be fixed? Either that or issue partial refunds to those affected. I don't mind waiting a few days but why no updates?

  • I too am having this issue but just found that I can fast forward if I go down to where all the active episodes are and do it with them up on the screen. Hope this helps until problem is fixed.

  • It's been about a week now and the problem is not fixed. I have to rewind sometimes in order to read the subtitles when they are too long. Or if I missed something due to a phone call or such and need to catch up. I am paying for a monthly pass and not getting the benefits I'm paying for. Instead I have to find the shows on YouTube to watch. If this keeps up I am canceling my subscription. Not going to pay for something that isn't working properly.
